Completion of Placing Kirillovskaya 500 kV Substation under Operating Voltage

Placing of the Kirillovskaya Substation under operating voltage has been successfully completed.The substation is located in Kogalym, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District.BPS of West-Siberian Region, the affiliate of FGC UES, operating in the Tyumen Region, acted as the end customer of the works.

Specialists of NOVINTECH have carried out works on creating APCS at the substation, including:

  • Detailed design analysis;
  • Equipment supply;
  • Engineering works;
  • FAT performance;
  • Pre-commissioning of equipment.

In the course of the works, controllers manufactured by SPE Mikronika were installed for 500 kV, 220 kV, 110 kV, and 10 kV connections.The APCS configuration implemented at the Kirillovskaya Substation differs from the standard one in that 2 controllers are installed for each connection.Generally, a connection is equipped with one controller.The use of additional devices allows uninterrupted operation of a facility.

Commissioning of the APCS at the Kirillovskaya 500 kV Substation provided by a team of NOVINTECH’s specialists was conducted according to the pre-set schedule.Currently, the substation is in the normal operational mode.

The Kirillovskaya 500 kV Substation plays a strategic role in the economics of the country:the Kholmogorskaya high-voltage 500 kV line comes to the substation from Surgut State District Power Plant No. 2, being the most powerful thermal power plant in Europe and Russia.Electric power passing through the Kirillovskaya Substation provides power supply for the entire Yamal Peninsula and supports oil production in the Northern part of Russia.
